Nadia Elena Comaneci

It was at the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she scored one of the most memorable sporting moments of all time and that was the very first perfect 10 on the asymmetrical bars. In addition, she went to score six more perfect 10s, making her the youngest overall Olympic gold medalist, only 14 years old age. Nadia Comaneci not only attracted interest, she also assisted in helping Romania gain a global presence. By achieving a feat that was unattainable she became a legendary figure and promoted gymnastics throughout the world. People's perception of female athletes was influenced by the feat. The impact she had on the Olympics was so significant that two of her routines, the toe-on move and release, are designated in honor of her. Both have been rated as difficult to the highest level. Apart from the Olympics her performance was impressive. She also showed outstanding performances in her participation in the World Championships and European Championships too, making her a living legend in the sport and amongst the top-known gymnasts the world could ever have. While in the US she was able to advertise sporting goods and models after leaving her native country. Nadia Nadia Nadia Nadia 2 Nadia
