LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born on December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The player is referred to for his role as King James and is considered to be among the most successful basketball players in history. James was awarded four NBA championships as well as four NBA MVPs, three All-Star MVPs along with the two Olympic medals. James has scored the most points during the playoffs, the second most career points and has the seventh most ever assists. Alongside being an NBA All-Star, James was picked for his NBA All-NBA Team on 18 occasions. Ten NBA Finals is the most ever, including eight in a row between 2011 and 2018. In 2018 James was also chosen to join The NBA 75th Anniversary team. James made his way onto the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. In 2022, he became one of the few NBA player to score 10,000 career points. James was a basketball player for St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he grew up. The national media praised James as a future NBA superstar. As a prep-to-pro player, he was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first top pick of the 2003 NBA draft. Following his selection as 2004's NBA Rookie Of The Year, he rapidly established himself as an elite player within the NBA winning the NBA's MVP award both in 2009 and 2010 After failing to win a championship with Cleveland James left in 2010 as a free agent to be a part of the Miami Heat this was announced during the TV special The Decision and is among the most controversial free agent decisions throughout sports history.
